Most recently, he served as Senior Marine Surveyor at ACE and as the Recreational Marine Risk Consulting Manager at CHUBB. John\u2019s been a SAMS (Society of Accredited Marine Surveyors) marine surveyor for nearly 20 years and was the founder and president of JB Wenz Marine Survey &#038; Consulting.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Wenz is well-versed in the marine world, having spent time as a Tender Captain for the \u201cStars &#038; Stripes\u201d America\u2019s Cup Campaign, and as a captain of various large vessels\u00a0including a 192\u2019 foot, 500 passenger dinner cruise ship. His long list of yachting experiences includes names like Feadship, Grand Banks, Hinckley, and Herreshoff, and ranges from SWATH vessels to classic yachts to solar-powered vessels.<\/p>\n<p>John holds a B.S. in Marine Transportation Management from SUNY Maritime College and is a licensed Property &#038; Casualty Insurance Producer. His related qualifications include USCG Licensed Ship Officer, Accredited Marine Surveyor, and he is an accomplished recreational marine loss control expert. He also serves as a Mentor in the Society of Accredited Marine Surveyors and is a member of the American Boat &#038; Yacht Council.
