Originally commissioned by textile magnate Gerrish Milliken, Jr. and launched as SPINDLE, she later became SOMERSET—a name carried through to her third / current owner. In 2012–2013 she underwent a comprehensive, keel-up restoration that brought her to modern standards while preserving her classic Trumpy elegance. The refit included a new bottom, keel frames and floors, fully rebuilt engines, new generators, tanks, plumbing, wiring, and electrical systems, along with an all-new interior, wall coverings, and paint. SOMERSET showcases the craftsmanship, grace, and prestige that define the Trumpy legacy. SOMERSET, Contract #442, is the sixth-to-last Trumpy built. Commissioned by Mr. Gerrish Milliken, Jr., of the textile industry, her original name was SPINDLE; then, later, SOMERSET by her second owner, a name also retained by her third. She was completely rebuilt from the keel up in 2012 - 2013. The refit included a new bottom, keel frames and floors, fully rebuilt engines, new generators, new tanks and plumbing, entirely new wiring and electrical systems, new interior, wall coverings, and paint. She exemplifies the quality and style synonymous with the Trumpy name, and those inspecting her will find her ready to go in great shape with no known deficiencies.
