Description

WHARF RAT is a 2020 Beneteau Oceanis 46.1 in the sought-after three-cabin, two-head Alpi mahogany layout, extensively optioned from the factory and equipped since delivery for serious cruising. She is a deliberately specified East Coast boat: her owner ordered both the shoal-draft cast iron keel and the factory ICW-height mast, a combination that lets her run the Intracoastal Waterway and work the thin water of the Chesapeake without the compromises that force most 47-footers to go outside for the trip south. She has been privately owned since new and has never been chartered.

What sets her apart is everything that has been added for self-sufficiency. A Spectra Newport 400C watermaker, a Victron inverter system with Cerbo GX monitoring, Starlink and an IridiumGO! satellite communicator, three-zone air conditioning on a Cummins Onan generator, a Viking eight-person liferaft, a Para-Tech delta drogue and a Fortress storm anchor mean she can leave the dock and stay gone. The working sail inventory furls - a North Sails in-mast mainsail and 107% jib, and a Quantum Code 0 on an electric Profurl with wired and wireless remotes - with a Quantum asymmetric spinnaker and an unused Elvstrom storm jib to cover both ends of the range. All four Harken winches are two-speed electric, so two people handle her comfortably. The Yanmar 4JH80 has 816 hours with its 1,000-hour service already completed in Summer 2025.

Key Features:

  • Factory ICW-height anodized furling mast by US Spars - 63' 6" air draft, inside the Intracoastal Waterway's 65-foot fixed bridge standard that a standard-rig 46.1 at 66' 8" is not
  • Shoal-draft cast iron keel - 5' 9" draft
  • Upgraded Yanmar 4JH80 common-rail diesel, 80 hp, on saildrive with a Flexofold three-blade folding propeller - 816 hours, 1,000-hour service completed Summer 2025
