The Ultra model of the Nonsuch 30 incorporates several enhancements over the original classic design, including a longer cockpit, an improved galley layout, and more extensive storage options.

Rigging: The most distinctive feature is its unstayed mast with a wishbone boom, which eliminates the need for vangs, travelers, or a headsail. All control lines are led back to the cockpit, making the boat exceptionally easy to sail short-handed or single-handed.
Hull & Performance: The boat features a modern hull design with a fine entry, wide beam carried aft, a fixed fin keel (or optional shoal keel), and a spade-type rudder.
